No offense, but I didn't realize that this was going to turn into the PA hockey thread...

Is there anything you'd like me (or anyone else) to do? Return of the scores/schedule posts? Daily linkage? Full trade day post?

I kept my mouth shut for most of this :P I think you'd be better off doing like Shelby does in the NFL thread and maybe post 3-5 news links for discussion on a regular basis. Of course, yes, trade deadline day deserves a post. (I might not be on here much longer....work is beginning to get a little tied up.)

Date To Flyers Other Team From Flyers
13-Feb-01 Matt Zultek Boston Bruins 2001 9th Rounder (Marcel Rodman)
13-Feb-02 Greg Koehler Carolina Hurricanes Jesse Boulerice

So much for trades. And the editing doesn't like extra spaces.

I'll do a trade post - although I'll be out for a little bit that day (doctor's appointment). I'll reserve a post the night before so I don't forget.

I think the news posts would be nice if I just did them at one set time every day, so I don't come on and make four or five of them throughout.

I'm going to break my silence on the PA hockey topic....I'm not a Flyers fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm looking at the team's roster, and I am wondering if the following fact is true: The only Flyers players that have Stanley Cup rings, Max Talbot and Jaromir Jagr, won all of them with the Penguins. (I looked at the over-28 members of the roster, and couldn't find any matches to the Cup winners of each year.) I'm pretty sure everyone else on the team's either been with the team too long or were on non-Cup winning teams, but like I said, I didn't look into it too much. (I got the idea after watching Mathieu Garon and the Lightning last night....Garon won with the Pens back in '09.)

While not playing now, compliments of a high-stick to the eye by a certain comrade from Toronto, Chris Pronger was on the 2007 Anaheim Ducks' Stanley Cup champions. While not playing in the playoffs then, but as the backup goalie, Ilya Bryzgalov also was on that team. So was current Penguin Chris Kunitz, even.

    This day in Flyers' history:

    Birthday: None

    Games:
1976: Flyers beat Canucks 6-4 on Bill Barber's goal with 49 seconds remaining, giving the Flyers 3 out of 4 points in Vancouver in back-to-back nights. This game was a makeup of a snowout from December.

1993: Flyers win in Vancouver 3-2 on Kevin Dineen's goal with 1.6 seconds left in regulation time.

1994: Flyers win in Los Angeles 4-3, in a special 9:00 p.m. EST starting time, with the winning goal being an empty-netter with 55 seconds left, in the Flyers' last game at the Forum before the Kings switched sides with the players' benches and the penalty boxes. (The fans on the side of the players' benches must have loved that when they came back after the 1994-95 lockout.)
