So how did the Penguins do, Steve-o? Remember: Most of the experts predicted the Pens to win the cup...

Horseshoes and hand grenades, you two.Quoted from a Flyer fan back in 08. Close doesn't matter...either your team does it and wins the Cup, or are one of the 29 settling for a draft pick.

This day in Flyers' history:
Birthday: None
Games:
Playoffs:
1974: Flyers beat Boston 3-2 on Bobby Clarke's goal at 12:01 of overtime, after Andre Dupont had tied the game with 52 seconds left in regulation, to give the Flyers the win in Boston they had to have, and their first win at the "Gah-den" since 11/12/67.
I will definitely root for the Kings if they make the finals, as I do have family in Sudden California.
The only problem I would have with them winning is that Jeff Carter and that useless coach Mumbles Stevens would get their names on the Cup. A little bit of effort when they were here, like Mike Richards did two years ago, might have brought the title to Philly.
Either way, Murphy's Law states that the Devils will win -- just like Pittsburgh in '09, Chicago in '10, and Boston in '11.
You have to enlighten me. What is this Murphy's Law?

got to admit....really surprised Flyers went down in five.....
anyone who had Kings-Coyotes....CONGRATS......
Pens need serious defense restructuring. I'm not going to dump on Philly. They kicked our butts.

Either that or it's the premise the world revolves around Philadelphia. :P Actually, I haven't picked a favorite team yet. Thanks to the fact I've pretty much been promoted to full-time where I work and the two days I get off I have females to chase, I haven't watched more than 5 minutes of hockey. But I mean, it's not bad, as I really didn't get to watch the majority of Pens games. Whoever lifts the Cup gets my nod and my congrats, just as long as it ain't the Flyers. Those poonietangers will only get a bedpan to spew their (s-bomb) in.![]()

This is copied from a Facebook page called "Hardcore Philly Fans":
Just because we didn't bring home the cup this year does not make us losers or mean we can't appreciate the season we had. At the beginning of the season nobody (and I don't care how knowledgeable you are) and I mean nobody could have predicted what was going to happen. If anything it was understood that we were going to be in a rebuilding phase. We lost our two biggest stars and brought on a whole range of new (some old but new to us) faces. Only time would tell how the team would gel.
To me this whole season was a pleasant surprise and watching it all develop in front of my eyes was a pleasure.
Yeah, (s-bomb) went wrong like the Pronger injury and some key players weren't stepping up the way they were supposed to. Bryz had a roller coaster season and we had yet another "goalie controversy". Blah blah blah.
But at the end of the season all I can do is reflect on how well this team came together and how excited I am to see them play again with all this experience under their belt.
I understand the frustration in being eliminated year after year. Especially since a lot of people weren't alive to see the last cup here. I remember it as a kid and trust me it was glorious. It's worth the wait.
Thing is if you win a cup you are extremely lucky. It's elusiveness is what makes it so special. Some cities have NEVER had one. So when some (AH-bomb) rival fan chants "1975" tell them to go (f-bomb) themselves because you'll still be around next season with or without a championship. They can watch footage from our last victory parade and take notes on how it's really done.
Anyway...
I guess my point here is that if you're going to bail on your team just because they didn't win the cup means you need to re-evaluate your hardcore philly fan status.
If you want to be a bandwagon fan that's fine, but don't come here and make anyone feel like an (AH-bomb) for their undying loyalty during the tough times. Because when the good times come (and they will) nobody will appreciate it more than us.

I was under the impression from your prior rhetoric that there were no bandwagon Flyer fans as per your consistent quotation of attendances, Big Steve. Thanks for proving the point I've made for 4 years about that![]()
