    Official Wrestling Discussion Thread

Trying to beat people to punch left and right with threads, so I'm going to be on a thread influx for a little bit. Any problems? Don't sue; PM.

Anyway, because of a little spat on the old boards about a few weeks ago, a generalized wrestling discussion thread was madly needed. Yes, this is where you talk about pretty much anything in regards to wrestling.

Who wants a side note? If you come across a post in this thread that you do not like, you do not have to read it. You have the right to ignore the post and keep on reading.

I'm just here to remove all of the clutter. So if you have anything that has to do with wrestling (preferrably the stuff that's weekly and on TV these days), put it in here.

You know what? Sometimes, I'm inclined to agree with this.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who would like one of those.

    Hey guys,

Former NWA World Women's Champion and Former TNA Women's Knockout Champion Kia Stevens better known as Awesome Kong, 33, was arrested Last Wednesday in Hillsborough County in Florida @ 11:59 AM on charges of driving with a license that had been either canceled, suspended or revoked.

She was jailed and then released at 1:44 PM after paying the $1,000 bond.

Merry Christmas Kong...... from the police!

Wanted to point this out to you guys.

In the latest edition of The Hockey News, they're doing a yearly People of Power list. They have a sidelist for people under the age of 40 who are making an impact in the hockey world in one way or another. One of those people is Chris Nowinski, formerly of WWF/E. (I think he was on a Tough Enough or something like that.) He's on that list because he's the president of the Sports Legacy Institute and, according to THN, "has been instrumental in having hockey players agree to donate their brains after death".

Just wanted to throw that little hockey/wresting connection out there.

He was on the first "season" of Tough Enough (as "Chris From Harvard"), but didn't win. He nevertheless got a WWF/E contract and wrestled for them from 2002-3 until he suffered the concussion that changed his life.

He's on that list because he's the president of the Sports Legacy Institute and, according to THN, "has been instrumental in having hockey players agree to donate their brains after death".
The SLI has done a lot to raise awareness of exactly the sort of damage concussions can do in both the short and the long term. Several wrestlers -- among them Mick Foley, Rob Van Dam, and New Jack -- have also agreed to donate their brains to the SLI after their deaths as well. It's important research being done, and Nowinski can't be commended enough IMO for his role in it.

In my opinion, the best of those 10 TLC Matches was the Legendary WWE Champion The Miz vs. Jerry "The Queen" Lawler. I kept on repeating 3:20 and 4:50 at least 3 times in the 2nd video. But I didn't only like the match the most out of the rest because the awesome Miz retained his title, but also because it was what a TLC Match should be, heart-pounding and thrilling because I was standing the whole time in awe of how terrible it would have been had Miz lost the title to someone who clearly didn't deserve it and especially didn't deserve those 2 victories over our awesome champion.

I remember The Miz as a reality star before wrestling & he will always be that person to me. Tell me after The Miz lose his belt if I should call him an awesome champion which I won't. I can name better champions than The Miz will ever be...

How long have you been watching wrestling? If that's your favorite match in TLC history, you need to watch when wrestling was a bit better. Your act is just a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

I'll admit, all those Triangle TLC Matches between The Dudleys, Hardys, and Edge & Christian were excellent, but you've got to read my reasoning Mandy. I said the reason I liked The Miz vs. Jerry "The Queen" Lawler match wasn't fully because of The Miz winning, but because it was just as exciting as all those bouts those 3 Teams had.

And speaking of our awesome WWE Champion, anyone looking forward to The Miz embarrassing John Morrison next week on RAW? I know I'll love the moment when The Miz hits Morrison with his Money in the Bank Briefcase and hits the Skull-Crushing Finale to retain his title and if Lawler ever gets involved, Riley will have that under control. Although this is kind of odd by Creative because it would make more sense for The Miz to embarrass Morrison at the Royal Rumble, but still it is a great way to start out the first RAW of 2011.
